Good news, Bad news, Good news, Bad News....(in no particular order)

My computer died. Motherboard is no longer working. Processor is so close to obsolete that I'm looking at motherboard, CPU combos
Dad's Windows bit the dust. With A DVD burner, Laptop and a tape drive somewhere in the house you'd think they'd have everything backed up. Silly reader
Dad makes a trip to Best Buy (somebody has to keep this economy going) orginally intending to by a new drive but instead buys a whole system
I agree to rescue their data in exchange for salvage rights.
